All About Dogs
Having a dog is a big responsibility and the reason is because they are pets needing much care, and if you do give them the best care you will be rewarded with many benefits. It is an individualized process to look for the right companion pet. People are different from each other and what one needs or desires is different from what another person needs and desires. The same can be said for every breed that is out there. In different stories we read how the many dog breeds came about but what we know now is that these different breeds have their specific purpose which are being used all over the world. When we speak of its utility, we can generalize them into two: They are used to help men in their tasks or to do a certain duty, they on the other hand are also simply considered as pets.
Both uses for dogs necessarily includes companionship, one as an ally or a co-worker, and the other as a social associate. Dogs can be relied upon as a companion and because of this they are said to enter with a relationship with their human where there is a give and take connection. Real bonding with a dog makes the owner gain many benefits from it. Companionship with a dog carries it with a positional attitude and the owner benefits from being able to be in charge of his dog. And when you are in-charge, you are responsible for its well-being. You feed him when he is hungry. You are sensitive when it wants to relieve itself and you take him out for that. You exercise and play with him when he is restless. When your dog is sick, you bring him to the vet. But you gain a lot in return like his loyalty, devotion and trust but these you are not entitled to these things if you don’t care for your dog. That is why some people get attached to their dogs which can be compared to an attachment with a best friend.
There is one area in having a dog companion which is somewhat neglected by many dog owners and that is the area of training their dogs. Dogs are not like humans, they don’t think like us, but what they do is to respond to patterns that we show them and they are very sensitive to these cues that is why most people think that they have cognitive abilities. Simply put, you cannot teach dogs the way you teach a child, it just does not work that way.
There are many benefits you gain if you train your dog. One is, it could save your dog’s life. The more time you spend working with them on commands, the more likely you will have voice control over your dog. If you can get back your dog to you with works it could spare his life. If your dog is trained manners, you can bring them anywhere without getting into an embarrassing situation or without getting injured. Training allows you to understand them better.
